Exceptionally experienced and creative computational chemist is 
looked after to apply for the CTS stipendium for the one year 
period (prolongation is possible). All paperwork should be carried 
out via Dr. Timofei Privalov (priti-#-organ.su.se). The projected 
start of the one year project is 01-01-2009, the host institution 
is the Stockholm Univrsity located at Stockholm, Sweden. The actual 
start of the project is somewhat negotiable.

Computational modeling of catalytic oxidation reactions based upon 
novel transition metal catalysts is the main goal of the project. 
On the one hand traditional oxidation reactions of typical organic 
substrates will be studied in systems that employ molecular oxygen 
or hydrogen peroxide as the only oxidant. On the other hand the 
oxidation of water will be modeled. The latter one implies the 
use of novel transition metal catalysts based on the ruthenium and 
manganese. Modeling will be carried out closely in the collaboration 
with experimentalists. 

Dr. Timofei Privalov is the contact person for those applicants 
who consider themselves qualified to carry out cutting edge modeling 
of complex chemical systems at the very limit of the available methods.
 Applicants with significant experienced in applied computational 
chemistry are though out; deep knowledge of DFT methods is required. 
Proficiency with handling complex electronic states is required.
Good command of organometallic chemistry is the plus as well. 
Good command of English, reliability in carrying out large scale 
computational screening, and the ability to deliver is the absolute must.
