An NSF sponsored postdoctoral position in computational chemistry is available at the University of 
South Florida. The initial appointment will be for one year, and is renewable upon mutual agreement.
The starting date is negotiable.

The research focuses on the conformational dynamics of sequence-specific DNA-binding proteins. 
The project involves the application of atomistic and coarse-grained simulation techniques, 
and the development of new models and methods. Excellent computing resources will be 
provided through the computer center on campus.

The candidate should have a strong background in biomolecular simulations using classical 
molecular dynamics or Monte Carlo methods. Programming skills, and an interest in algorithm 
development are preferred. Experience with biomolecular simulation packages like CHARMM, 
AMBER, or GROMACS, and familiarity with the UNIX operating system are a plus. The candidate 
should be capable of independent research, and have strong written and verbal English 
communication skills. A Ph.D. in chemistry/physics/biophysics, or in a related discipline is 
required.

Tampa is located at Florida's west coast; home to a wide range of outdoor, sports, and cultural 
attractions. The area boasts numerous beaches and a sunny, subtropical climate.
