United Kingdom

Success at Lilly has placed us as one of the top ten of largest
pharmaceutical companies in the world. Through out this period
we have steadfastly remained independent, but not isolated and across the
globe, Lilly has developed productive alliances and partnerships that
advance our capacity to develop innovative medicines.

A position is available within the Computational Drug Discovery (CDD) group
for a scientific programmer to support Lilly's drug discovery efforts. The
CDD group is pioneering the application of the KNIME workflow tool in
medicinal chemistry and a programmer is required to interface with the
medicinal and computational chemists for the development of new nodes,
workflows and web services to further expedite the drug discovery process.
The post will also offer opportunities to engage with the external
precompetitive community via open source contributions and to develop novel
scientific applications which leverage both public and internal data.

The ideal candidate would have strong coding skills in an object-oriented
language such as Java or C++, experience with web services and tools such
as Eclipse and Mercurial. Candidates should have an academic record of
scientific excellence, a flair for independent research and a strong
interest in interdisciplinary approaches and collaboration.

The position (ref. CC02/10) is available immediately and in the first
instant is a contract for 1 year with the option of further extension upon
mutual agreement.
