Scientific Software Developer
Chemical Computing Group is a life science software company that provides
state-of the-art drug discovery software to major pharmaceutical and
biotechnology companies around the world. Our software, MOE, the
Molecular Operating Environment, is a platform-independent molecular
modeling package that offers life science researchers a broad range of
powerful built-in applications. An embedded high level programming
language, SVL, allows for rapid implementation of new scientific methods
as well as easy, flexible customization.
We currently have open positions in our Research and Development

As a member of R&D, your responsibilities would include:
- Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining applications and
extensions to CCG products
- Researching, implementing and verifying new approaches to computer-
assisted drug discovery
- Writing technical documentation, scientific reports and scientific
articles
- Creating and giving scientific or technical presentations
- Interacting with customers at meetings and conferences in North America
and overseas
- Providing technical assistance to the scientific support team
The positions are full-time and are located in Montreal.
Requirements
- Exceptional programming skills
- MSc/PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Structural
Biology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaborative
attitude
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and maintain scientific
applications
Desirable Knowledge and Experience
- Five or more years experience in scientific programming, computational
modeling or applied mathematics
- Expert knowledge in specialized fields, such as molecular modeling, 3D
graphics, Java/web development, GUI design, computational geometry,
language design or databases
- Strong familiarity with molecular modeling software (computational and
GUI)
- Commercial software or F/OSS development experience
