is a privately held Texas Limited Liability Company headquartered in Dallas TX
with its research facility in San Diego CA. DNS will discover new technologies and
develop new therapies to help maintain cognitive vitality throughout life.
DNSs Scientific Computing department focuses on (i) general IT infrastructure
to support company research and administration, (ii) design and implementation
of bioinformatic tools, (iii) workflow and inventory management for chemistry,
compound management and general research (including robotics and automation),
(iv) computational modeling of small molecule-protein interactions, virtual
library enumeration and screening. The Group Leader of
Computational Chemistry will have broad hands-on experience in computational
chemistry with proven success using computer-aided drug design, molecular
docking and dynamics, pharmacophore generation, ligand based drug design, QSAR,
ADMET prediction, and cheminformatics. Familiarity with drug discovery,
medicinal and combinatorial chemistry, and relevant biological disciplines
(e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology) is required, along with
the ability to integrate with these disciplines to design new bioactive
compounds. The successful candidate will have expertise with a variety of
modeling packages, machine learning, and programming/scripting experience to
contribute to the development of computational chemistry infrastructure, lead
identification and lead optimization. An ability to plan, prioritize and
execute experiments in an efficient and time-effective manner with a proven
track record of successfully completing projects is required. Self-starting
abilities are expected. Experience with CNS targets is preferred. Additional
responsibilities may include development and implementation of innovative
methods and algorithms to enhance computational approaches in areas including
virtual screening, library design, and cheminformatics. Contributions to the
intellectual property of projects are anticipated. Viable candidates require
strong written and verbal communication skills, good problem solving abilities
and an ability to work effectively with a diverse team of co-workers. Requirements: 1. A
PhD chemist with 7+ years 2. Demonstrated
experience with molecular modeling, computational chemistry, cheminformatics,
QSAR and ADMET modeling. 3. Ability
to work independently and ability to interact with a multidisciplinary team of
medicinal chemists, biologists, pharmacologists and external collaborators. 4. Supervision
of additional computational chemists and contractors. 5. Ability
to evaluate intangible variables, requiring regular use of ingenuity and
creativity. 6. Ability
