Subject: 10.07.29 Senior Drug Discovery Applications Scientist

Schrodinger, a technology leader specializing in computational 
methods for drug discovery and development, is looking for a 
senior computational chemist  with a synthetic or medicinal chemistry 
background for our Drug Discovery Applications Group.  The successful 
candidate will become part of a multidisciplinary drug discovery team 
working on both collaborative projects with pharmaceutical/biotechnology 
partners and in-house efforts to improve and apply drug discovery 
and development computational methods.

Job Description: 

- Actively participate in Drug Discovery Applications Group projects 
- Coordinate and monitor external and internal projects 
- Share computational chemistry expertise with other members of the Group 
- Work closely with the Development Team to test and improve 
Schrodinger Drug Discovery technologies 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

- Ph.D. in computational chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry 
or biochemistry
- At least 2-3 years of relevant post-Ph.D. experience in 
computationally-driven lead discovery and optimization
- Extensive experience in structure-based drug design
- Experience in at least 2 of the following molecular 
modeling areas: virtual ligand screening, 
computationally driven lead optimization, ligand-based drug design, 
molecular dynamics, homology modeling or ADMETox/QSPR 
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
- Ability to coordinate and monitor multiple external 
collaborative projects 
- Ability to work in a geographically distributed team

Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to one or more other disciplines of relevance to drug discovery, 
such as synthetic organic chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, 
pharmaceutics, biochemistry, or physical and analytical chemistry
- Scripting (python preferred)
