Subject: 17.04.18 Statistical Mechanics postdoctoral position at Washington State University
Statistical Mechanics postdoctoral position at Washington State University Highly motivated applicants are solicited for a computational postdoc within the group of Prof. Aurora E. Clark, in the Chemistry Department at Washington State University. The funded position (1 year, renewable up to 3 years upon mutual agreement) will study complex multicomponent solutions, including acidic conditions, high ionic strength, and hydrophobic solutes. Classical molecular dynamics (non-polarizable and polarizable force fields), and ab-initio molecular dynamics are employed, alongside new graph theoretical methods for data exploration that determine relevant correlation functions and reaction coordinates. Candidates are sought with expertise and capabilities within: - Classical and ab-initio molecular dynamics including force field development and parameterization - Metadynamics and other enhanced sampling methods - Free energy techniques Required Skills: Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Geochemistry, Applied Mathematics, Materials Science, or an equivalent field within the last 5 years. Demonstrated expertise within the fields of statistical mechanics as demonstrated by regular publication in the peer-reviewed technical literature. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Application materials, including a CV and 3 letters of recommendation should be sent to Ms. Josefina Galvan (j.galvan*wsu.edu). All technical questions can be sent to Prof. Aurora Clark (auclark*wsu.edu).NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
