Subject: 17.08.21 Postdoc in electronic structure theory method development
FocusA position for a post-doctoral scholar is available in the Mayhall research group at Virginia Tech. This position will involve developing new correlated wavefunction electronic structure methods for simulating transition metal and lanthanide complexes.
RequirementsThe successful candidate must have: a) significant programing experience with emphasis on coding in electronic structure packages, b) demonstrated ability to use computational chemistry to study novel systems, c) effective communication, d) PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or related field by the start date of this position.
DutiesThe successful candidate will be expected to: develop and implement new quantum chemistry methods, use both standard and non-standard computational chemistry programs, write journal articles and attend research conferences to communicate results, and mentor graduate students.
