Subject: 18.01.02 Postdoc position at Furman University
A postdoctoral position in computational chemistry is available at Furman University in 
Greenville, SC. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for the development and use of 
configurational sampling techniques and quantum mechanical methods to study the formation 
and growth of hydrogen bonded molecular clusters. S/he will work extensively with undergraduate 
students at Furman and collaborate with other groups at Furman and other institutions. 
S/he will also be responsible for administering and managing the groups high performance 
computing (HPC) resources. This is a one-year position renewable further depending on mutual
agreement and availability of funding.

- Ph.D. in computational chemistry with robust background in the theory, development and application realms.
- Experience using and managing high performance computing (HPC) resources.
- A strong publication record.
- Scientific programming experience with Python, and preferably C/C++.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage several projects simultaneously.

- Record of mentoring and working with undergraduate students.
- System administration in a Linux/Unix HPC environment.
- Web development
