The University of Edinburgh (UoE) and Cresset 
( are recruiting a postdoctoral level 
scientist to lead on a collaborative project to develop user-friendly 
software for molecular simulations-driven computer-aided drug design. 
The position is based at Cresset's offices in Cambridgeshire.

Cresset provides computational drug design software and services to the 
life sciences market. We take pride in providing top-quality science to
our users in an easy-to-use form, and we would expect the successful 
candidate to continue our reputation for excellence. This is an exciting 
opportunity for a computational scientist wishing to pursue a career in 
the life-sciences software industry.

The post will involve a review of the current use of free energy 
perturbation methods (FEP) at UoE, deployment of academic software on 
Cresset infrastructure and benchmarking for software validation, 
integration of academic FEP software into Cressets commercial offerings, 
automation of individual steps of the workflow, beta release of software, 
large scale validation and commercialisation activities. The post also 
offers an enhanced personal development training package provided by 
the UK government through InnovateUK.

Appointments will normally be made at Ue07 grade depending on the 
experience of the successful candidate (32,548 - 38,833) but senior 
appointments may also be considered. The position is for 15 months 
initially and, subject to satisfactory progress, may transition to a 
permanent position at Cresset.
