A postdoc position is available in the Daniel Ess computational and simulation lab at Brigham Young University (BYU) (http://www.chem.byu.edu/faculty/daniel-h-ess/). BYU has a very friendly campus environment in Provo, which is the second largest city in Utah (population of about 250,000 in Utah Valley) and located approximately 45 minutes south of Salt Lake City. This position is an applied computational chemistry position that will involve multiple projects ranging from basic fundamental projects to collaboration with petrochemical industrial partners. Projects will be centered around the topic of organometallic reactions and catalysis. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in computational or theoretical chemistry, computational chemical engineering, or a related field. Applicants must be highly independent, be able to handle multiple projects, be expert in several electronic structure and molecular dynamics computational packages, and be willing to learn our in-house programs written in Python and C++.
