Merck is looking for a Cheminformatics Technology Development Expert you will work closely with a group of highly integrated Cheminformaticians and Chemists. Your work will interface with the R&D core team, product development and commercial teams for the advancement of cheminformatics products. *Solve complex problems in the development and implementation of search algorithms and related theories, AI, and machine learning related to cheminformatics and chemical synthesis *Significantly add to the further development of existing software, associated technology according to roadmap of product development and roll out. *Identify further refinements, expanded capabilities using knowledge of other software and related technologies. *Stay up to date on the latest trends in chemistry and apply that knowledge to enhance existing technology. Actively seek opportunities to enhance software and develop novel ideas into products. *Transform prototype software into commercially-refined applications Who you are: *Curious and innovative with a strong desire to revolutionize chemistry through the application of modern algorithms *Strong knowledge of network-, graph- and big data algorithms *Fluent with Java, Python, C++ is a bonus *Documented experience in coding, github or otherwise *Contributions to major OpenSource projects greatly preferred *Team player, willing to work across disciplines and learn independently *Requires a Master's degree in computer science or related fields and 2-3 years of work experience in commercial programming.
