Position descriptions
Several positions for research associate scientists, postdoc, PhD and master students are available in Prof. Yuan's group at the Shenzhen
Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences. The working place is located in Shenzhen, a modern and
international city next to Hong Kong. SIAT focuses on highly interdisciplinary research with strong financial support from the local government.
The open positions focus on computational biology and modern drug discovery, covering AI tool development, using molecular simulations
to understand biological mechanisms, rational protein design, computer-aided drug discovery and many others.
A new modern drug discovery center will be led by Prof. Yuan. Multidisciplinary subjects will be combined with other leading scientists in the
world. Candidates with biology, chemistry, biotechnology or computer science background are strongly welcome.
This is a multi-culture research group and we warmly welcome qualified scientists from all over the world with different backgrounds to join us.

Requirements:
1. Ideally, postdoc candidates should be no older than 35 years old. Candidates should have good English skills for communications.
2. For computational biology, candidates should have experience in molecular simulations, computational drug discovery,
rational protein design or system biology. Experiences in organic synthesis or structural biology are also welcome. Experience in Kinme workflow is a plus.
3. For the computational tool development, programming experience in Python, C/C++ or Java is compulsory.
4. We also hire experimental scientists in biochemistry or structural biology. Experience in membrane proteins (such as GPCR or ion channel) or enzyme catalysis would be ideal.
5. For the PhD/Master students, it would be compulsory to apply for the Chinese government scholarship successfully first. More detailed information can be found here
Please choose "236 University of Chinese Academy of Sciences" as your targeted university when you fill in the online application system.

and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in February 2006, comprise 8 institutes and numerous other labs and facilities. SIAT aims to enhance the innovative
capacity of the equipment manufacturing and service industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong region, promote the development of emerging industries possessing their own
proprietary intellectual property, and become a world-class industrial research institute.
It also hosts 9 national innovation labs, 26 key labs and platforms at the provincial level and 79 key labs and platforms at the municipal level.
Over the past 12 years, SIAT has made significant achievements in human resource development, academic research and technology commercialization.
SIATs staff is over 1376, as well as more than 1077 students. Among SIATs staff are 14 IEEE fellows, 2 CAS academicians, 12 fellows of the National Thousand Talents Program
and three Leading Scientists of Guangdong. A total of 32 researchers from SIAT have been selected as CAS Hundred Talents Program fellows. Furthermore, over 500 of SIATs scientists
have a doctoral degree and 502 have overseas study or work experience.
To meet the nations needs in healthcare and manufacturing, SIAT focuses on emerging industries such as low-cost healthcare, service robots, electric vehicles, cloud computing,
digital cities, nano-medicine, new energy and new materials. SIAT has established partnerships with more than 1000 firms including Huawei, Midea and
China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd., among others. It has attracted over 2 billion RMB of industrial investment and incubated 727 high-technology companies.
SIATs main component divisions include:
Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Integration Technology (SIAIT)
Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering (IBHE)
Institute of Advanced Computing and Digital Engineering (IACDE)
Institute of Biomedicine and Biotechnology (IBB)
Guangzhou Institute of Advanced Technology (GIAT)
