The Michel lab has two PhD studentship opportunities starting in September 2021. 1) ''A hybrid molecular simulation/machine-learning framework for rapid and accurate computation of absolute binding free energies of lead-like molecules'' 42 month CASE PhD studentship in collaboration with Dr Daniel Cole (Newcastle University) and Dr Graeme Robb (AstraZeneca Cambridge) This PhD project will focus on new methodologies that combine molecular simulations and machine learning to deliver step-changes in accuracy and efficiency of absolute binding free energy calculation of drug-like molecules. Cutting-edge forcefields and sampling methodologies will be implemented and benchmarked on drug-targets of current interest in the pharmaceutical industry.
