From: jobs at ccl.net (do not send your application there!!!) To: jobs at ccl.net Date: Thu Jan 7 09:05:29 2021 Subject: 21.01.07 Postdoc Positions in Ab Initio Simulation Postdoc Positions in Ab Initio Simulation: Theoretical Chemistry, Marx Group, Bochum Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in the Marx Group at Bochum (www.theochem.rub.de) which are available immediately or upon mutual agreement for two years with possible extensions. The researchers will be involved in challenging projects using and/or advancing modern ab initio simulation techniques including state-of-the-art machine learning extensions. Topics cover e.g. THz spectroscopy, quantum cryochemistry and aqueous interfaces using cutting-edge methods such as those based on path integrals and artificial neural networks; check the homepage and recent publications. The Center for Theoretical Chemistry at RUB offers an exciting interdisciplinary research environment and excellent facilities including several in-house HPC platforms. The Marx Group is among the scientific pillars of the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV (www.solvation.de) and is deeply involved in the Center for Solvation Science ZEMOS (www.rub.de/zemos), which hosts a powerful Core Facility for Simulation. The Research Associates will take full advantage of being integrated into RESOLV and ZEMOS. Note that we are operational on university campus even in current covid-19 pandemic times. Information on the simulation techniques used and developed at CTC are accessible via www.theochem.rub.de/go/cprev.html whereas fundamentals are provided in D. Marx and J. Hutter, Ab Initio Molecular Dynamics: Basic Theory and Advanced Methods (Cambridge, 2009). Candidates should have significant experience in molecular dynamics / electronic structure and a PhD in computational / theoretical chemistry / physics. The Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum seeks to foster the careers of women, especially in areas where they are currently underrepresented, and therefore encourages applications of women in particular. Qualified disabled candidates are explicitly invited to apply. Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Candidates should send a two page resume including a short outline of their previous research expertise and achievements as well as their own thoughts on aforementioned topics together with the usual material as a PDF file to: Professor Dominik Marx Lehrstuhl fuer Theoretische Chemie Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum 44780 Bochum, Germany theochem-#-theochem.rub.de | www.theochem.rub.deNOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
