Postdoc Position, Quantifying entropy from protein dynamics by simulation and experiment, Ruhr University Bochum/Germany (full position, TV-L E13/100%)

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position, which is available immediately or upon mutual agreement. The goal of the project is to combine MD simulations and NMR relaxation to obtain atomic-levels insights into the link between protein dynamics and conformational entropy. The project is carried out in collaboration with Professor Frans Mulder at Aarhus University/Denmark and it will involve extended research stays at Aarhus University. The successful candidate has experience in theoretical and computational chemistry, biomolecular simulations, statistical mechanics, structural biology, and scientific computing. Experience in NMR spectroscopy and advanced biomolecular simulation methods, such as e.g. enhanced sampling techniques and force field development, are beneficial but not a requirement. Most important is proven scientific excellence.

If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.

Candidates should have an excellent M.Sc. (or equivalent) degree in chemistry, physics, or a related field, and a PhD (or equivalent degree) in Theoretical/computational chemistry/(bio-)physics or in NMR spectroscopy. The group language is English, so no German language skills are required but its a great opportunity for you to learn German.
