There is a -now relatively old- book by
Hugh Cartwright, the "Applications of Artificial Intelligence in
Chemistry", that includes some information on genetic algorithms and their
possible applications (this is one of the Oxford Chemistry Primers, we
have the 1995 edition). I suppose Dr Cartwright is probably the person to
talk to, visit his homepage at:
   http://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/researchguide/hmcartwright.html

Also a more recent application was the implementation of GAs in the
program GOLD (distributed by the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre).
This is a ligand docking program using flexible ligands.

Hope this helps.

I.

Hi,

G98 for AIX was untarred successfully, but it still
cannot work properly.

G98 was installed into the directory of /usr/g98. And the following two
lines were added into the file .login.

setenv g98root /usr
source $g98root/g98/bsd/g98.login

But the error message appeared, which listed below.

star: /home/ybfan/test 32>g98 < water.com > water.log
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program g98 because of the following
errors:
0509-023 Symbol kioctl32 in csh is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol kpread in csh is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol kpwrite in csh is not defined.

0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a
valid format.

Could you please tell why g98 cannot work in our computer and how can I
solve it?

With best regards

Y. Fan
