CIMTEC 2006 (11th International Conferences on Modern Materials and Technologies) Acireale, Sicily, Italy, June 4 to 9, 2006. http://www.cimtec-congress.org/general.asp CIMTEC 2006 (11th International Conferences on Modern Materials and Technologies) will be held in Acireale, Sicily, Italy, June 4 to 9, 2006. As a major long standing event for the international materials community CIMTEC will again gather together a large and qualified audience of materials scientists, physicists, chemists and engineers as well as experts of a wide range of the most demanding application areas of modern materials, from information technology to biological systems. Special attention will be devoted to the most relevant directions for materials research based on new theory and refined modelling strategies and on the ever increasing opportunities offered by the continuous remarkable progress in nanoscience and nanotechnology. CIMTEC 2006 will consist of the "11th International Ceramics Congress" and of the "4th Forum on New Materials" each of them including a number of Sections, Special Sessions, Symposia and Conferences.Computational modelling and simulation will be a major item along the several Sections and Symposia of CIMTEC 2006 "International Conferences on Modern Materials and Technologies". Of interest will be state-of-the-art materials theory and modelling and application of computational techniques to fundamental and applied aspects concerning chemistry, physics, structure, microstructure evolution and properties of materials by using atomistic to multiscale approaches. Computer modeling and simulation of materials processing, of its application in engineering devices, and its role into the rapidly growing field of materials nanoscience and nanotechnology will be deserved special attention. CIMTEC 2006, whose major endorsing bodies are the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS), the World Academy of Ceramics (WAC) and the International Ceramic Federation (ICF) will feature the 4th FORUM ON NEW MATERIALS and the 11th INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS CONGRESS, each of them hosting a number of Sections, Special Sessions, Symposia and Conferences.NOTE THAT E-MAIL ADDRESSES HAVE BEEN MODIFIED!!!
