2006 ACS Central Regional Meeting & 39th Silicon Symposium Frankenmuth, Michigan, May 16-20, 2006 http://www.siliconsymposium.com http://www.crm2006.org The 2006 American Chemical Society (ACS) Central Regional Meeting & 39th Silicon Symposium will be held in Frankenmuth, Michigan from May 16-20, 2006. The conference promotes science, chemical education and the diverse interactions between the scientific disciplines. This meeting represents a unique opportunity for researchers, scientists, educators and students from around the region, and the world, to participate and interact. Cross-talk between disciplines, businesses, geographies, and educational venues contribute to the events theme - Diverse Interactions: The Elements of Success. Notably, Jean-Michel Cousteau, the eldest son of the late ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau and founder of the Ocean Futures Society, will open the 2006 Symposium with his presentation, Ecology, Economy, and the Sea. We expect approximately 1300 individuals will participate in targeted technical sessions, award symposia, workshops, and highlighted activities including: o 4-Day Symposium featuring 4 plenary lectures and more than 40 symposia and workshops. o 3-Day Exposition with ~40 participants from various companies and institutions. o Social Activities including ACS Awards Banquet, the 39th Silicon Symposium Banquet, an ACS BBQ including passes to the 2006 World Expo of Beer, student-professional mixer, spouse activities. o Call for Papers deadline March 10, 2006.
