To: jobs at ccl.net Date: Fri Jul 26 08:57:12 2024 Subject: 24.07.26 Associate/assistant Professorship in Computational Chemistry, Xiamen University, China The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CCCE, chem.xmu.edu.cn) at Xiamen University (XMU) wishes to recruit a highly motivated and talented colleague to the post of assistant/associate professorship in computational chemistry. The successful candidate is expected to develop an innovative research program that complements the existing strength in CCCE, and we are particularly interested in the following two areas while candidates working in related areas are also encouraged to apply, (i) Statistical mechanics and chemical dynamics of materials; (ii) Method development for modeling interfacial electrochemistry and dynamic catalysis. The successful candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary and vibrant research team led by Prof. Jun Cheng (www.cheng-group.net). The team is made up of talented researchers having diverse backgrounds of chemistry, physics, computer science, machine learning, etc. The team is closely working with researchers and engineers in Laboratory of AI for Electrochemistry (AI4EC Lab) in Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory (IKKEM), and greatly benefits from the technical support provided by a group of software engineers, as well as computing resource from Tah Kah Kee Intelligent Computing Center. Requirements: Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, materials science or a related field, with good experience on electronic structure calculation (DFT and beyond), sampling methods (e.g. molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo), and/or machine learning techniques. Offer: - The base gross salary is RMB ~300,000/350,000 per annum at the assistant/associate professor level. - Other benefits (e.g. pension, insurance and housing benefit) will be offered according to the university policies, and the university has an affiliated nursery and school to provide good childcare and education for children.
