Subject: 24.08.06 Postdoc and PhD positions, Atomistic and coarse-grained MD of responsive soft matter
Ph.D. and postdoctoral positions are available in the Computational Physical Chemistry group
(www.cpc.tu-darmstadt.de) at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, to work on the
development and application of molecular simulation methods to study the solvation and aqueous
phase behavior of hydrophobic macromolecules and biopolymers (thermo-responsive polymers,
ELPs, IDPs) in complex aqueous environments. The Ph.D. and postdoctoral positions will involve
the development and application of simulation methods for responsive soft matter systems and
aqueous cosolutes (salts, cosolvents, osmolytes) interacting with them at both the all-atom and
coarse-grained levels.

The research is conducted in the Collaborative Research Consortium on Multiscale Simulation
Methods for Soft Matter Systems (https://trr146.uni-mainz.de). Experience with MD simulation is
required, and preferably (but not required) also with free energy sampling techniques such as
umbrella sampling, replica exchange, and metadynamics.
Applications including a CV should be send by email to Prof. Nico van der Vegt,
