We are seeking a Postoctoral Researcher to work with
Professor Jeremy C Smith along with a team of scientists
modeling chemical and biophysical phenomena with deep learning
assisted simulation methods. This position will perform modeling
and simulation of biological systems in the Center for Molecular
Biophysics, along with chemical systems for projects within neutron
and chemical sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This will involve
calculating forces and interactions between atoms in the systems
as well as molecular dynamics and related modeling and simulation
algorithms to understand fundamental behavior. This position resides
in the Molecular Biophysics Group in the Biocomputing and Information
Section, Biosciences Division, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL),
with collaboration with the Neutron Scattering Division, the Chemical
Sciences Division, and the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform modeling and simulation of biological macromolecular systems
and crystalline solids

Use deep learning methods to predict physical properties

Calculating forces and interactions between atoms, including with deep
learning approaches

Using analysis algorithms to understand fundamental behavior
Deliver ORNLs mission by aligning behaviors, priorities, and interactions
with our core values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service.
