Subject: 25.02.06 Summer Research Program in Molecular Science (Undergrad/Masters) at NYU Shanghai, China
NYU Shanghai invites applications to the Summer Research Program in Molecular Science (SRPMS), an undergraduate and masters research experience program in theoretical and computational chemistry. SRPMS is designed to foster entry into chemistry and biology research-centered careers for highly motivated graduates and undergraduates with a strong interest in chemistry, biology, or related scientific disciplines. The primary goal of this program is to extend NYU Shanghai's research opportunities to non-NYU Shanghai students and to diversify the scientific workforce in the field of Molecular Science. Students apply for positions in a 2-month long program with flexible starting dates. Admitted students will have the opportunity to actively participate in research projects under the mentorship of a professor who is at the forefront of his or her field of chemistry and biology. At the end of the program, students produce a report summarizing the outcomes of their research project. Financial support will be provided for eligible students for the duration of the program. In addition, a limited number of scholarships are available to help offset travel costs. Applicants are required to state their areas of interest in a personal statement. Below is a list of faculty interested in hosting students in their labs: o William Glover (computational chemistry, photochemistry/physics) o Xiang Sun (theoretical chemistry, quantum dynamics) o John Zhang (protein-drug and protein-protein interactions, protein dynamics) *Application requirements* The program is open to both graduate students (M.Sc. level) and undergraduates completing their sophomore year or beyond. Applicants should have strong academic records with courses in chemistry, physics, or biology, or related disciplines. Applicants should have a good command of spoken and written English. The duration of the SRPMS program is 2 months with flexible starting dates. (Please ensure that you have no other commitments during the program). See https://research.shanghai.nyu.edu/centers-and-institutes/chemistry/srpms for more details.
