The most reliable source for the MOPAC6 code (and presumable MOPAC7, but I have not worked with it) is QCPE. They have on deposit the original source for the VAX, virginal and untinkered with. This is the source
from which (AFAIK) several UNIX flavors were derived. I ported it to 
 the ESV and to IRIX with no problems when Mopac6 was first released.
