Pardon my ignorance in this area, but is anyone aware of work (experimental or computational) that has been done to attempt to mimic the "active site" of a peptide or enzyme with a synthetic oligomer or polymer?  By synthetic polymer I mean one that is composed of common or industrially relevant monomers.
