CCL:G: creating a formatted .fchk file in gaussian

If memory serves, you have to do this change in format on the same computer on which the calculation was performed, then download the files to your workstation. Dave

Dear CCls can you help me please?
I try to create Formatted Checkpoint Files using g03 or g09 using the command:
formchk filel.chk filel.fchk as recommended in gaussian's manual,
but after about 50 lines I get an announcement:
 Segmentation fault
Error termination in NtrErr:
ntran open failure returned to fopen.

I get the same announcement for several chk file, all correct chk files  I can use them to begin a new calculation correctly.

Gratefully
Haya
