Abstract Nr 5---------------------------------------------------------------Title: CREATING WEB PAGES TO SUPPLEMENT INTRODUCTORY BIOCHEMISTRY. Abstract: CREATING WEB PAGES TO SUPPLEMENT INTRODUCTORY BIOCHEMISTRY. Clarke W. Earley, Kent State University, Stark Campus, 6000 Frank Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44720. Creation of World Wide Web pages for individual courses affords an excellent opportunity to provide students with resources in an interactive, dynamic manner not possible in a static medium. While creating simple Web pages is not difficult, creating quality pages containing relevant and useful information is a time-consuming process. However, by personally creating these pages, one has the flexibility to utilize this technology to present information in a manner that can be closely integrated with the remainder of the course. This talk will describe the strategy used to create a site that supplements an introductory biochemistry course, the programs used (all of which are freely available), and some of the ideas that have been found to be particularly successful.
